Well, I don't even know where to begin. Some great things have been happening and I am excited to share them with you!
On April 19th I got to skip school and go to Missouri State University to learn about their fashion program. I met some really awesome people and it was a ton of fun. While I was there, I was given two free tickets to their fashion show the next night. I took my best friend and we had a blast! Everyone their is so incredibly talented! The show was great.
The last collection was done by Zach McCormack. His inspiration was 1960's Victorian and, wait, this is the best part, American Horror Story! It was absolutely genius and my favorite collection of the night. Afterwards, I got to talk to him a little bit and tell him how much I loved his work.
This blog has been really exciting. I love writing and I love that most of you are coming back to read!
I have been working on a big project in my art class as well. I am making a poster for the wrestling room and it is looking great.
Now for the most exciting news! I am opening up my own shop and selling some of the items I have made and created. I will let you all know when it is all up and running and ready to go!
In No cuts, No buts, No Coconuts! I told you guys that I had something that I wanted to show you... Here it is. I stole an old book from my Mom and it blew up with pictures of all the things I like (most of them were posted in the last post).
This thing is too cool!
This book (dramatic pause) is awesome (super ecstatic)! I take it with me every where for the most part.
It will slowly be added to over time and one day be completely filled.
I have been researching Maurizio Galantes' haute couture spring summer 2013 collection and you guys have to have to see this.
These outfits are a complete work of art! I absolutely love this all around. It is so fun and there is nothing that says more like spring and summer like bright colors. I enjoyed the confusedness of it. Everything was everywhere and that is how peoples' brains operate too. That is what I thought about while watching the show. I really like the fringe on a couple of the outfits. I thought they really pulled everything together and without them they would look like a mess. I don't have anything negative about this at all. I think this is going down as one of my favorite collections ever. You did a magnificent job Mr. Galante!
School is almost over and I can't wait. I'm not ready to go outside and burn to death, but I need a break. My head is about to explode! I will have a lot more time to sit down and really get into things. I think I am going to start writing a couple times a week. I feel like there will be more content and it will all be more fun.
This isn't an outfit post sadly. I need to get pictures of everything that I have been wearing the last couple weeks. I think that I need to just start taking pictures in the morning because after school I am too lazy to get up and do it. I don't promise this to myself. I need to stop making myself promises that I don't keep!
This is, by far, the best selfie ever taken in this world. Napoleon Dynamite, you will forever be on my top movie list!
Have a great rest of your week! It is Friday! Woohoo!!!
Makayla
