Both of these are images from Prada's 2012 Fall Runway. I really love the colors because I feel that they add variety and a lot of fun to the world. If I saw one of these outfits on the street I would be very happy and I would probably have a much better day (clothes do that to me, don't judge). I love love love this collection I think it is amazing. If I could change one thing it would probably be the shoes in the first image. I think that the outfit would look a lot better and not as dizzy if they were a solid shoe.
Now, mixing patterns is a whole other story...
If it was me, I would be very careful when mixing patterns and really think about how they look together. Personally, I think when you do mix there needs to be one main pattern that is the "eye catcher". The other pattern needs to complement the eye catcher. I also think that when you have one busy busy pattern the other needs to be subtle. Example: Say you have a very big floral pattern with many color crammed into on a skirt. The shirt I would match with it would be a black and white horizontal skinny striped shirt.
I guess what I am trying to put into words is do the opposite of the main pattern, I guess? I hope you are following me hahaa.
To the YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT?!?!!??!?!!
My absolute favorite movies are the teen 80's movies. If you haven't seen Pretty in Pink, 16 Candles, Breakfast Club, or The Heather's you need need NEED to watch them!! They will probably be the best things you have ever seen if I do say so myself. They have great story lines and awesome fashion!
If you have Netflix, I know you can stream and order them in.
The first two are from Pretty in Pink. She makes
her own clothes in the movie!!
The last two are from 16 Candles.
You guys are probably all like "What about Heather's?!?" and going all crazy. I getting to it! This on is special because the girl who plays the main character, Veronica Sawyer (Winona Ryder), is my fashion icon! She is super cool and odd.
She is so pretty! There aren't any good pictures of what she is wearing and they are really hard to get from the movie also. They show the whole outfit for a split second then move on. Oh well. I love the 80's and I adore the way she was dressed in this movie. Shoulder Pads!
My outfit today is very 'all over the place'. There isn't one two items that really "go together", but they work well together.
The foxes are an orange color with my red corduroy pants. I have on a peacock blue long sleeve with a random purple bow. My glasses were my Mom's when she was in high school. Nothing in this outfit matches at all, but they work well together. All the colors are the same intensities and I think that is what is making this work. The bow was added later in the day during my fashion class. It is a scrap from a friends fabric.
Every morning before I walk into my first class, there are these boys who always make fun of me for my outfits and the girls always give me the evil glare. I choose to ignore them. Actually, when they do that it gives me more confidence that I look good.
Just thought I would share that with you guys. People are mean and rude, but if you like what you are wearing and you think that you look great, odds are you do and they are jealous!
